Somewhat frustrated with many of the flavour of the panels at SXSW (take-themselves-seriously speakers who are not really pushing the envelope), the BritPack here at SXSW, led by the School of Everything crowd ran an (un)planned an (un)session which they gave the very logical hashtag of #kebab* (check out the
twitterstream here).
It started off as a serious (

) session about the (lack of) value of Social Media but rapidly escalated into a "Weakest Link meets I'm sorry I haven't a Clue" - an opportunity to take the p*ss out of all the SXSW sacred cows real and perceived - Social Media, Whuffie, Americans, SXSW, Twitter etc etc etc. The last 30 minutes were video'd
over here.
And of course, the British have their our own version of
Godwin's Law - which is that any exchange will bring up the Daily Mail, and it naturally arrived on schedule.
And it worked - and don't take our word for it - there is a Loyal Fan Base of One:
...apparently Brits just took over a room and met up, this panel is like a hug from Jesus. #kebab
(*For our non UK readers - British cuisine is crap so we adopt other countries as our own - Kebabs are Turkish....)
