Hey, it's just a list of basically the most linked individual stories. Other big stories/themes were spread out over less linked but more frequent stories throughout the year.
What did you mean "How is Techmeme funded - placement?"
Ah OK, thanks Gabe - link stats is more understandable to get these results than traffic, as Google and Apple probably have higher fanboi counts.
Re Placement, I was asking the Twitterverse as to how how you guys are funded. Following the money allows deep understanding of strategy. I can see sponsored posts are placed in the stream, hence the term "placement". And yes, I wondered - frankly - if you were also giving certain companies prominence, given the huge representation of Apple and Google
The answer to your last question is "no", and I'll add Apple has never supported Techmeme in any form.

Gabe - noted re Apple. I also read the comments board on your post. Two thoughts:
(i) I was clearly not the only one scratching my head. (ii) Ditto not the only one worried about commoditisation of TM. I really like TM, I'm just worried that becoming more like ComputerWeekly etc is not the way to create differential value. |
