I saw this advertised today on the Twitter, and went along to the page linked (
here), abuzz with hope - so what did I learn?
In Summary:
1. Don't compete with Amazon.
2. Don't sell stuff Amazon sells
3. Don't sell stuff Amazon resellers sell
4. Don't sell stuff in countries where Amazon sells it
5. Don't sell stuff where people know that they want already, because they go to Amazon first
6. Sell branded stuff, but only that Amazon doesn't sell
7. Sell to iPad owners because they are richer....
8. .....and Amazon is too busy pumping Kindle
9. Sell stuff with high margins (and low delivery costs)
10. Mobile is The Future (unitil Amazon does it, of course....)
Tongue in cheek I know, and to be fair, there are some snippets of useful stuff there - but I don't think the above summary is far wide of the mark!
