I think the elephant story is a great analogy for the online marketing business and propose to steal it as my own in lieu of you admission fee.
Hi Alan. Didn't get a chance to say 'hullo' last night. Also love the elephant scenario. My personal belief is that a lot of pr people, marketeers, advertisers etc all rush to tell their clients that the internet is changing the world as we know it in order to get a bigger chunk of the elephant. Problem is, very few have realised the PR world is also being changed by the same forces.
Apologies for the now horribly convoluted analogy

"old PR in new bottles" - very good point. It applies as much to the measurement techniques put forward as the PR techniques being used...unfortunately!
