Dave Winer, re Podcasting and its embarrassing lack of loot....
Let me explain.
My phone doesn't have a business model. Neither does my porch. I still like having a phone and a porch because they help me meet new people and communicate with people I know. Same with my blog and podcast.
Akshully, they do have business models, but the phone is part of the telco business model and the porch is part of the housebuilding-diy business model. Its just you can't see em when you look at the artefact - its a part of a bigger hole you pour your money into
Hint - if you are handing money over for something, it has a business model. If you ain't, its VC funded
I (sort of) agree with Dave here though re the "secret sauce" of blogging:
A blogger is person who has an idea, expertise or opinion who wants to convey that to other people. The unedited voice of a person. What makes a blogger interesting is that they do something other than writing a blog. If all you do is write a blog, and if you want or need to make money from your blogging, it's really hard to distinguish what you're doing from what professionals who don't use the web (are there any left?) do
Hmmm...so blogging about blogging is as low as it goes

But I agree in the main - blogs by subject experts are what I love about blogging as a medium.
I must (ashamedly?) admit to RSS'ng some of the journoblogs I like though, as they aggregate the stories I like to read about, even though I then go elsewhere for analysis.
