Music that makes you dumb

I really enjoyed Virgil Griffith's earlier research on books that make you dumb, now he has done the same on Music that makes you dumb. He essentially scrapes peoples Facebook profiles for music they like, organised by school, and then attaches the schools' average SAT results.

Key findings are:

Smartest schools' (on aggregate) people listen to Techno, then Classic Rock, dumbest to Soca and Gospel. Surprising results to me are that next dumbest is Jazz (so next time you see a jazz beardie feel superior

), and the next smartest listen to Country!!!

Who would have thought - am immediately replacing my CD shrine to Storyville with a Nashville compendium!
