From ABC news (tip of hat to
TechCrunch) comes the news of the
health benefits of blogging:
The research, from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, found after two months of regular blogging, people felt they had better social support and friendship networks than those who did not blog.
Bloggers reported a greater sense of belonging to a group of like-minded people and feeling more confident they could rely on others for help.
In 2 surveys, all respondents, whether or not they blogged, reported feeling less anxious, depressed and stressed after two months of online social networking.
I recall
Kathy Sierra also claiming that blogging improves Sex Lives and Wealth (well, according to Scoble anyway.....).
The opportunities for commercialisation are clearly lying dormant - one wonders when the first "Blog For Your Health" type New Age courses will start - in California, naturally - and will we see special Blogging Gear, and Yoga for Blogger strain etc etc ?
