![]() More seriously... I think Twitter is another valuable way for people to communicate quickly -- just like many other forms of media are. It's useful in emergencies, but it's more analogous to a public group phone call than to hard news. Put another way, during an emergency, phone calls, Twitter and real reporting all have value.
@Tweetip - you are comparing Twitter to the MSM, that is not a valid comparison - try finding out when the first texts and emails alerted people instead.
@ Eric - I'm sure I read that you noted that Twitter had actually got the first alerts out before the Earthquake happened ![]() I'd agree with your serious point, but my article was just begging to be written ![]()
