11. writing lists about how to use twitter and then tweeting about them.
Said I with a large dose of irony and mirth. Thanks for the Awesome post Alan
What you need is some kind of real time filter to detect & remove these annoying tweets before they get into your inbox - along the lines of a spam filter in email - I wonder who might have suitable technology to create one?

Nice list, I've got pretty much the same reasons to not follow/unfollow. And totally agree about @loudmouthman, I'm always in awe about his brilliant morning tweets whereas I just about manage a good morning.
I'd add in "information about the state of health of your dog / cat / hamster". I am not interested, ever.
@ Rebecca I'd add babies (especially in the processs of being born) to that

Yep. And maximum tweet velocity should not exceed 1 per 10 minutes.
I would also add that anyone who mentions that they are a "life coach", "Twitter coach", "Internet marketing rockstar", "affiliate marketing guru", or an "expert list builder" results in an automatic unfollow in my book.
Also, anyone who's Twitter stream is more than 50% populated from Twitterfeed is also an automatic unfollow.
Tho, haven't we all been guilty of one or other of those sins, at least once?
Not you or me of course, never. Om nom nom nom!
Who, me? Guilty - never !
By the way I'm selling penances at £10 a shot ![]()
"(Its amazing how its always the same people....)"
No it isn't. ![]() But sometimes, you don't have to wait for the tweets."All round good guy" or similar in the Twitter bio is normally an effective early warning.
I know you weren't referring to political propaganda when you mentioned "Right Thinking," but it got me thinking politically nevertheless. Add to the list the "Left Wingnut" propaganda tweets I'll get from various "twits" and it'll get you blocked by yours truly. So, too, will I block anyone who follows me who has absolutely zip for a bio, or refers to themselves as a guru.
Hi colleagues, fastidious paragraph and good arguments commented here, I am in fact enjoying by these.
