Errr...
4) Keep doing it because you want to create a better Twitter experience for yourself. Plus, not everyone has an iPhone. It's barely 4% of the market. I've no idea what % iPhone is for Twitter users as a whole - would be interesting to see. The site I develop for (http://m.dabr.co.uk/) doesn't make any money - yet has million of users. I develop because I want to make the mobile experience better for a) me and b) everyone else. If, one day, Twitter fixes m.twitter and mobile.twitter I'd be very happy indeed.
You're right re iPhone market at 4%, but its near 1/3rd share of smartphones, which use Apps. The main thing though is that smartphone apps cost money, so Twitter can no longer afford to have 3rd parties own the channel to the user.
I think having an 'official' app is good : as it means developers have 'one to beat' - the official one (no one likes officials
![]() I have bunch of ideas for features which are not in Tweetie and are pretty simple to accomplish. bonus points for buttplug image! lol |
