Your use of the word 'theology' was interesting and it set me in mind of the likelihood of 'dogma'.
Isn't your (and ours and others) analysis of what MS or Google might do with newly acquired or potentially acquired properties fatally flawed by the latter? Don't mind me, I am reading 'Black Swans' which is altogether a very calming experience.
hey alan,
i think the only place we disagree is that i see google pushing for more openness - so it's not like ms in it's heyday. cheers + maybe c u tomo at chinwag? umair
@ Ian - I must write a post on trying to live life continually assuming a Black Swan will fly in
![]() PS I think there is mileage in the Dogma idea @ Umair sadly I'm in Holland tomorrow giving a talk at a conference there - will ping you to see when you are about fo' mo' beers ![]()
let me know if you finish black swam, never met anybody who did ... and it is charming
i see google trying to perpetuate its existence, so nothing extraordinary there .... that they are different in the open/closed meme is an after-the-fact analysis, they are simply living in the dynamic of the time, that is not the result of a strategic decision
and compared to the next generation, they are indeed closed |
